Haroldo de Campos most well-known work on Hebrew Bible transcriation is Qohelet. Campos raises up into word’s universe that according to himself has as purpose to establish a contrastive study throughout modern poetics techniques application inspired in Ezra Pound, on Roman Jakobson linguistics theory and on Walter Benjamin’s literature premises. The term transcriation proposes a “hyper literal” translation, following Jakobson seeks those original phono semantics transpositions leading them to a Portuguese language reconfiguration, as well as what it will be semantically showed up and irradiated at the text content level, namely, through Jakobson poetics grammar and Pound’s Logopeia look for the text existential and essential sense and of the literature in question. The objective is revisit those essential and existential elements presented by Haroldo de Campos through a comparative literary and philosophical dialogue between haroldian transcriation and Qohelet’s text formalistic translation of Hebrew Bible. The conclusion is that the translation brings in itself an experiential essence and it’s up to the translator to identify text poetics function’s way from original and reconfigure it at arriving language.
